Named by Imbibe Magazine as a “Person to Watch”, Samara Rivers, founder of the Black Bourbon Society, talks to us about whiskey, brands’ responses to Black Lives Matter and her channel @blackbourbonsociety. Samara is breaking stereotypes that whiskey is for white middle aged men through her social posts, ambassador program and events. She’s grown to the society to more than 17K members after studying up from whiskey experts and joining the United States Bartender Guild. She loves high proof, Booker’s. She’s a big fan of Stagg, Elmer T. Lee and Hillrock. We like your style Samara. She believes the future of the industry will be diverse and she optimistic about the future.
